Ken---The oil that escapes out the bottom of the dashpot is sucked into
the operating engine. It gets mixed with the gas, so little harm can
come from this, ala the two strokers.

The placement for these 'rings will be obvious when removing the needle
adjustment screw from the air valve. Pictures are shown in the Haynes
Repair Manual for the ZS Carburetor. I recommend this for anyone who
likes to do their own work in this area.

'O' ring sizes
COMRADES,
Can anyone provide dimensions for the dashpot 'O' ring for a #ZS175-CD
carb.on my '74-6.
Looking for OD/ID/ and ring thickness (diameter).
Currently dumping lots of 20-50W motor oil in damper pot but it just
doesn't remain there for long. Where does this oil leak into and will it
cause any potential problems somewhere else in carb body? Where exactly
should this o ring be placed in piston body?
Does anyone have any 'extra' o rings to spare at this time? Just can't
see spending $7 to ship a $1. item from the big 3. Will gladly reimburse
any offers immediately.
All responses are ALWAYS appreciated.
THANKS
Ken C.
