No tools required beyond a propane torch and a substantial screwdriver
(Pry-driver). Train the flame of the torch through the steel sleeve until
the surrounding rubber is bubbling merrily away. Let the rubber burn for a
minute or two as its cool to watch, especially if you have augmented your
sense of humor with Thunderbird. The sleeve can now be pushed through
freely, and cleaned up for re-use if desired. Having melted all sleeves
free, pry the bushings from their bores by inserting your instrument of
destruction between the OD of the bushing and the trailing arm. Yes, the
bushings will most likely tear and require removal in pieces. Even the most
understanding spouse will insist that this procedure be done outside.
