I have heard another possible way to do this is with a coat hanger.  I have
not personally used the coat hanger approach, but it makes sense.  

BTW, if you don't have a pair of hemostats in your toolbox (as suggested by
Bob's website) you need to get a set.  They are readily available on eBay
and cheap.  Great tools to have.  I bought both a straight one and a curved
tip...

There's a good picture of the pin you have to remove here
