Had the same issue with mine. Follow the brown wire from the alternator thr=
ough the firewall. The insulation may have worn through and grounded, or th=
ere's a connection issue under the dash. There's also a black wire that gro=
unds through one of the threaded gauge mounts, the ones with the serrated n=
uts. That was my issue, it had worked itself loose.
