Its a fabricated part described in the SII tuning handbook.
Prevents a lot of oil from flooding the timing cover during
hard breaking.

Not totally required, but certainly handy.

In rebuilding my engine, the machine shop came up with a part that I don't 
remember taking off my engine.  Its a plate that blocks off the hole from
the 
block to the timing case.  The picture came out of a an unknown book.   The 
question is , Is this a stock part or something that I need to fabricate.  I

honestly don't remember removing this part from the two engines I tore down 
to make one.   The article says "its made of 16 ga steel with a slot cut fo 
allow insertion of the vent end od the oil feed line."
