Andy,
One method that I have used that works:
Open slave cylinder bleed nipple; have someone ready to pump the pedal; remove
the lid of the master cylinder; get a piece of heater hose, or something
similar, and place it on the top edge of the opening of the master cylinder so
that it seals reasonably well; then blow into the hose while your assistant
pumps the pedal. Do this a few times then bleed as normal.
