Hi all,
A little off topic, but I'm putting in a side access gate in the
fence at home. The gate is a sliding gate (manual) that closes
against a 4in (100mm) steel post and it will be clad in 'colourbond'
formed sheet steel (ie you can't reach through to unlock it). I want
to be able to lock/unlock the gate from either side. Does anyone have
any suggestions for a lock that would suit? The only solution I've
found so far is a household deadlatch (Lockwood 355), but it is
designed for the thickness of a timber door, so I would need to make
up a 2in spacer to accommodate the 'free' lock barrel - and it's
quite expensive.

Anyone been down this path before?
Cheers,
Paul.
