MTI RACING, READY TO FIELD A TWO CAR TEAM FOR SCCA
SPEEDVISION WORLD CHALLENGE IN NEW C5’S

ATLANTA, GA., Feb. 09, 1999 – The C5 Corvette hardtop makes its SCCA Pro
Racing debut at Mosport Park, Canada, May 21-23, at the season opener of the
Speedvision World Challenge Series, “World GT class”. The series will
include the worlds best production based sports cars, like the Chevrolet
Corvette, Dodge Viper, Acura NSX, BMW M Series, Porsche 911, Saleen/Ford
Mustangs and Audi A4 Turbos to name a few.

The newly formed MTI racing team will be one to keep your eyes on. Last
year's "rookie of the year", C4 Corvette driver Reese Cox will head up the
two-car program along with teammate Scotty B. White (with pirate racing in
98). Both drivers will pilot equally prepared 1999 C5 Corvette Hardtops. At
the time of this writing, MTI racing had acquired two of the limited-edition
race chassis built by General Motors. Chevrolet built 20 serial numbered
stripped down 1999 Corvette Hardtops intended for off-road use only and
for-sale to World Challenge and GT3 race teams. At press time the MTI racing
team was also very close to announcing a title sponsor for the 1999 season.

The MTI racing team will compete in the full 10 race Speedvision World
Challenge season and has set a goal for both cars to finish in the top five
of the 1999 points championship. MTI Racing is working closely with
Chevrolet and SCCA to create a package for the World Challenge C5 Corvette
that will make it competitive with the factory backed teams like the Vipers,
Saleen Mustangs, BMWs and 911's. This effort will allow many of the parts
and pieces developed for the factory backed C5R GT2 Corvettes to find their
way onto the World Challenge C5 Corvettes for 1999.
