Well put, Glenn! I've been scanning through many of the responses to this
thread and it has been interesting to observe that the only sane response(s)
to this whole thing were from the people who actually attended the event and
SAW THE COURSE. Huh, imagine that...
How fast was I going in the now-infamous Magic 75 mph Neon section of the
course? I have no idea, I was watching the course instead of the speedometer.
Sorry, it's one of my annoying autocross habits. I was in a well-prepared BS
Miata and I'm pretty sure I was far below 75mph. I'd have to ask the car owner
what he thinks the car was capable of at that point in the course, I've only
driven the car at 3 events and I'm not that familiar with it.
But I do know the course was fun, challenging, legal, blessed by Howard Duncan
and at least one Safety Steward, and driven by many other Safety Stewards that
attended the event and had no complaints about the speed. My compliments to
the course designers on a great course.
