I went shoe shopping once for a pair of tennis shoes that would help me
in my heel-toe activities. I found a pair of "Head" tennis shoes that
had a larger 'flange' to the outside of the foot near the ball. This was
ideal for me. That allowed me to keep more of my foot on the brake
pedal, where the effort was needed, and still blip the throttle with
this 'extension' of the shoe. Works great for me, and it's even stock
class legal! :-)
