The June 1999 issue of North American Pylon was mailed from San Francisco
on Monday, June 7, 1999 ands is slowly creeping toward your mailbox in
standard snail mail fashion.
        This month we have all our usual features including:
                Byron Short's analysis of Erik Strelniek's runs at the
Peru, IN, Pro Solo.
                Dwayne Komush knocking the proposal to put Baby Grands in E
Prepared with no                                rules to define what a Baby
Grand is.
                Lorenzo the Scribe discusses pivot cones at North Hills
SCC.
                Pat Kelly tells about some of the good stuff coming next
issue.
                Editor John Kelly reminds time is short until the 1999 Solo
II Nationals.
                Mark Sipe calls for takking a good luck at event safety.
                JD Kemp tells about his daughter's adventures at a go-kart
track.
                Henry Watts describes agonies faced by PCA regions trying
to figure out
                        work-run formats.
                New Arrival Stephen Monjar describes the fun he having with
"Blue Shark."

        Our monthly interview is with Jean and Mark Alft, operators of
Solotime in Wichita, Kansas. Jean won the FSL title for the second time
last September. Mark is an alumni of the Solo Events Board. Solotime
sponsors the Mid-Div series.

        Event coverage begins with John Lieberman on the Red River Region
hosting one of the Trans-Louisiana (TLAC) Series events. With Gail DeLeon
photos.
        The Ace Reporter digs into the Atwater, CA, Pro Solo won by Gary
Thomason, Kay Bailey, and Glenn Hernandez.
        Morgan fanatic John Sheally supplies pix and stories from Virginia
Motor Sports Park, including the debut of NASA-Virginia.
        New England Region shatters its attendance record with 209 for its
opener.
        Philadelphia Region runs at Camden, NJ. 
        The Canadian Confederation of Autosport Car Clubs invites the world
to take them on at their July 31-Aug. 1 West Coast Challenge at Boundary
Bay Airport, Ladner, BC.
        Arizona Region has its second event in the Cactus Patch series.
        Al Chan outlines the Detroit Council's program
        Tidewater SCC honors its Wintercross 4 Champions.
        Sacramento's soon-to-be decommissioned McClellan AFB offers up a
new concrete site which the enterprising SCCA Sacramento 
        Chapter smoothed out a little by dragging concrete parking stops
over the course.
        American Autocross Series stages four events. Rick Brown (second in
BP last year) and Bill Fleig ('98 BP champ) split victories, each in his
own Corvette.

        All that and our outstanding calendar has been updated but still
doesn't have everybody. Sigh.
