I'd like to hear some opinions on power vs. manual steering on a '99 Miata
street/autox car. I haven't found one with manual steering to test drive,
so I don't know how it works/feels. My last two MR2s had manual steering,
so I was used to the effort and feel, and my Miata's power steering
initially felt over-assisted to me. I was planning to convert it to manual
steering, but now I'm not sure. The power steering has a quicker ratio
which might be nicer for slaloms, although I don't know if the difference is
significant. The power steering is also kind of nice for parking or quick
U-turns around town. For those of you who have driven both, which did you
prefer and why?
Also, does anyone know how much the power steering system weighs?
