As a Fiero driver I'm amazed at the lengths people will go to to complain
about the classing of their cars. Since I own a little raced car an 86SEV6
automatic I have a less than competitive car in C stock. I watch people talk
about E30M3's being placed in that class 2600 lbs. 190+ HP and real brakes
Vs my 140 HP 2800 LB cars with non vented disks! If I modify anything I end
up running with some very potent cars in CSP. My Fiero has no chance.

If I had an 88 (Best of breed) it would have a much more advanced suspension
and vented 4 wheel disks in the same class. Since I don't own an often raced
Miata I don't get my less of the breed car reclassed. The 1.6's and 1.8's
are not sufficiently different to be considered a different car! Neither do
the old F body's and Mustangs with heavy flanks and no horsepower compared
to today's cars. Someone just mentioned not classing automatics separately.
A very good point, they obviously have horsepower deficits Vs their standard
transmission counterparts.

The SCCA does a fine job trying to class cars in reasonable groups. Let them
do so but continue with best of breed classing for simplification.
platform or generations may require changing ex... RX7) Highly raced cars
have a bigger voice (Miata) but should not be given preferential treatment.

I'm not sure that E and H stock should be combined however. The best H
stocks might be close to E stock but some of those cars are sized as land
yachts Vs automobiles and need a slower class. Move the faster H stockers to
E stock and leave the big boats in a class of their own.

Add another sports car class at the top and let them fight it out. Put all
the corvettes together, at least of the same generation. Don't place low
volume cars in SP classes, let them duke it out in these classes.

You can't honestly expect to be able to predict exactly how a new car will
perform, too many variables exist. Cars will be classed to dominate classes.
When it happens look at the data (ONLY after there is enough data) and
adjust.

We all know that the PAX system is flawed, it is however the best that we
currently have. I struggle understanding how a new sports sedan like a
Prelude gets a better PAX than my 17 year old economy parts box 2 seater.
That's life. If you want the best car for a particular class:
- Watch results
- purchase a new or used car of that model
- spend money and time sorting it out
- have loads of fun
- don't bitch when they reclassify because everyone else saw what you did

And for those with older 1.6 litre Miata's ... Chill out, have fun and go
back to playing in the B stock sandbox where you truly belong with a true
2200 LB sports car!

Happy to be having fun and finding the edge, wherever that may be

PS drove a friends RX7 TT at our last event... What a rush... Wildwood
brakes, suspension work and a non functioning Peter Farrell computer.
Running ONLY stock boost Ha Ha I'm looking for better brake pads any
recommendations?
