It depends on the circumstances. Running low on fuel
takes weight off the rear; which will affect how well
your car hooks up accelerating out of turns (not quite
as critical with a good LSD). Also, while at
Nationals I did run the car low enough on fuel that I
was experiencing starvation on my first Wednesday run.
That said, I usually try to get my fuel load as low as
possible before autoxing.
