Entries are in the mail for Mirror Khana XXVII -- "A new Mirror Khana for a
new millennium." May 19-20 in Salina!
Not all that new really. As many know, the course had to be redesigned
because we can no longer close Markley Road. However, it worked out that the
south end of the course will be almost exactly as it was (with one new turn
coming onto the straight) and in exactly the same place. The north end now
comprises a "skid circle (a 50' radius half-circle), the Buttonhook in a new
location (not approached quite as fast), the famous Box Turn (slightly
further south) and a right/left onto the straight virtually identical to the
same turn coming onto the northbound straight.
Still the same deal -- two cars head to head, no clocks, first one home wins
the match and moves on through the round-robin. Double elimination (gotta
lose twice to be sent home). Saturday practice, Sunday competition. $25
entry fee includes a Brookville Hotel chicken dinner.
Entry forms have been sent to everyone who ran Mirror Khana XXIV and later,
to the Solo Chairs of all the MiDiv Regions and a few others. But if you
can't find one at your next autocross, ask me and I'll mail you one.
