Obvious answer:  It's not the bar.  The assumption seems to have been
that the bar is binding/squeaking where it is held to the body via the
captive bushings.

Perhaps the bushings are moving in the clamps.  Also possible is
that the clamps are moving where they mount to the body, or
the body itself is flexing, producing a "squeaky/creaky" sound.
(not good)
