Absolutely. What makes this vague? There is no question in my mind that
this is okay in SP; in fact, I think it's one of the things that makes
update/backdate really cool.

That was true in the stock Porsche 914. The entire seat was one piece,
but could pivot around a point underneath the front edge of the seat bottom.
In early 914's, the passenger seat was completely non-adjustable -- it
wasn't
even really a seat, just a pad on the floor and firewall.
