FWIW - I have two pairs of Azenis, plus my stock RE92s, some RE71s, and
Blizzaks for winter so I can't comment with precision about their ultimate
longevity. But they seem to wear better than both the 92s and 71s - at
least they don't cup/feather all the little tread edges like those
Bridgestones.

And just because they don't have a lot of little treads, don't discount
their wet weather performance. I drove I-90 to Spokane one night in heavy
rain (water running across the road in places and standing water in the
"stud" groves in the concrete). I was able to go around all the corners
posted at 45-50 at 85 (the unofficial Montana state speed limit - high cost
tickets and points begin at 86) with nary a wiggle.

But to second the comments of others - they are NOT a mud, snow, or ice
tire.

Alan, do you have the experience of actually wearing out a set of Azenis
tires, or are you just making an assumption based on wear ratings? I'd
like to know if anybody's worn out a set yet, just to have an idea what
I'm in for with my new shoes.
