It resets to "http:/// ." Gotta use IE6, do to access to the
Multiple Listing Service down here. Yeah, I complained when they
required me to "upgrade." Boy, there's a lose term. No Macs
because of this. The problem has been occurring for a few weeks,
prior to the worms.

It is Win98 so theoretically, it should not be affect by the
blaster or sans worms. And my laptop broke before they came up
(and is in transit back to Sony). :^(

I can reset the page (current, default, or blank), and it
remembers it the whole time. FWIW, I use www.msn.com as the home
page.So the link Nate sent is sort of right. I'll try it later
today or tomorrow.

I have run Trendmicro's "HouseCall" which scans the machine on
online and not virii were found.

I do update EVERY morning with Norton, plus my ISP runs viral
blocking too. The only update I have not run (I'm pretty
religious on this, too) is the Direct X (9?) patch. I don't game,
so I don't care.

Thanks to all.

also, what does the page reset to?

nate
there is an article in the Microsoft KB addressing this issue. It
applies to
all versions of Explorer and Windows OS's. Here's the URL:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320159

let me know if that doesn't work.
