I have just a couple of thoughts on this subject:

Leases have very specific language about miles, and the cost per mile
after a certain # of miles. I'm not sure where you live, and its proximity
to where you work and your significant other, but I DO know that if you plan
to make any appreciable number of events, that mileage is likely to be a
factor. We're blessed with a number of autocross sites in our area,
unfortunately (at least for me), the word "area" translates into some
serious miles. I bought my car in March, I live 6 miles from work one way,
and I already have 7000 miles on the car, MAINLY due to autocrosses (the
occasional jaunt to Tahoe aside).
Beyond that, I leased a car prior to the one I bought in March. I had
it for 8 months and decided it just wasn't going to work for me (read: I
couldn't make it work for autocross). I had a 4 year lease, and it wasn't
easy (cheap) to get out of the lease in a car I preferred (could drive
semi-competitively). If you think this car isn't going to work for you for
the life of the lease, or that you're going to exceed the pre-determined
miles significantly, beware the lease, my friend.
