Proving he is the master of short and long competition driving, once and
sometime autocrosser Navid Kahangi and his team won the NASA 12-hour Enduro
yesterday at Thunderhill. Navid drove a BMW of course, but not the deceased
purple one. Event ran from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. - no breaks! What a super
performance.

Helping support the team were (among others) Jim Ochi, fuel gopher and Jerry
Mouton, fueler. Jerry was in full fire suit and helmet and must now be
qualified to work CART and NASCAR. That wasn't a full weekend for Jim or
Jerry. Both are at the Oakland event today, Jim back home early enough to
drive the motorhome to the event!

Fred Van Wagenen was manager for son Erick's RX7 team. They ran the whole
event and finished (I believe) 12th overall. Corey Smith was on a Miata
team, which unfortunately lost a motor about hour 10.

Congratulate these guys next time you see them.
