hi all,

my father is selling his 1952 triumph TR2. it is a very early TR2, number
3xx, and we believe it is one of the very first TR2s imported into the US.
it was built before the welding jigs were developed so it is truly
handbuilt. it has the fancy aluminum hood and trunk lid factory options.
note this is not the ubiquitous TR3A you usually see but the rarer TR2.

i remember i was with him when he bought the car in 1968. it was black
then, but restored and repainted to a color closely matching the gray of the
TR1 prototype car. the interior is red. it was used for road rallies and
pleasure driving only until about 1980 and was very reliable. aside from a
broken tail light i think it is in excellent condition. he has cranked it
over periodically (yes it has a hand crank) and changed the fluids for
proper long term storage. he claims the softtop doesnt leak a drop. of the
many british sports cars he has owned, this is the only one he kept.

although i doubt anyone here would be interested, this car is part of my
childhood and i would love to see the car in good hands (possibly
autocrossed!) here in the bay area. i would take the car but i have nowhere
to put it.

thanks!

james
