What I'm wondering is:
1. How many of you have joined the club because of the Web page?
2. How many of you will let your membership laps because of the Web page?
Part of the appeal of the clubs i belong to are the magazines ie Brickline,
VTR etc.
the mags are great and are different than the net. The VTR has been on line
for a very long time and i dont believe it has hurt them. I certainly will
not give up membership because of the net. Also, i have only attended one
Brick meet but enjoyed it greatly. The meets are a place to see people and
cars face to face which the net will never replace.
3. What do you want to see on the Web page?
as i am not a real computer guy, whatever can be put on it. the parts ref
list is great. like others on the list i dont want to order 50 past magazines
to get info. tech articles are also good to see. I know VTR recently put an
article in the mag that was originally submitted to the Triumph mailing list
as an answer to a ? about spitfire springs.
4. What do you want from the club - what would make you join?
already a member and not ready to quit. However, technology is here to stay
and lets hope that the powers that be realize that the web can enhance our
club. It appears from responses to your appeal we have learned of several new
members and car owners. this will help our suppliers (Terry & Bob etc.) and
benefit all of us. Hell i learned of another Brick in Salt Lake and probably
never would have met Marvin if not for this list. Before the list i had to
use contacts to track down license plate #s which is how i found Joel.
In my opinion the web will only help us. I like many of you have other cars
besides Bricklins. I have found all kind of useful info on all of them from
the net and i have yet to cancel any memberships.
It's my belief that the Web page and mailing list will bring members to
the club and if we can show that, we may get more support for the Web
page from the Club. Ditto Pugs
