Questions on both sides of the door. First, what adhesive is used for
the skin to shell surface? Second, on my 74 I was wondering whether
anyone has experience using some alternative attaching concepts for the
interior door panel. I was considering using something to build up the
shell surface so that I could use pressure sensative velcro to attach
the panels. Also, does anyone know a supplier for chrome plated
slightly oversized sheet metal screws to attach those panels (in case
the velcro fails)?
A little warning -- on 74s the heat riser may leak and when it does it
is in position to burn right through the floor pan and allow CO to enter
the cockpit (not a good idea). To find out, gently pull back the carpet
immediately to the right of the radio. If your car is like mine, you
may see burnt padding and a whole hole the size of a quarter that should
be repaired. Kim
