Fix the leaks in your system -- they shouldn't lose a charge of air unless
there is a fairly substantial leak.

So, since it is just a "backup" which model could I use?

Many of the compressors have a check valve in them and a pressure switch
that turns them on and off at certain pressures. I bought one from eBay
about a month ago as a spare -- do a search for 12v compressor and you
should find the guy selling them -- I think they are Thomas brand and should
cost about 50.00 or so.

Tanner charges something like 300 for his compressor. While I like to do
business with our vendors and his compressor is likely better than the one I
bought, I just couldn't justify the cost. My car is a daily driver and I am
still using the j.c.whitney one that I put on maybe 3 years ago.
