Joel,
There are several companies making a water born primer, which is the key
to Terry's article. I'm not going to go against Terry, but I don't know
that I believe in the water based primers or water based paints for that
matter. I had a discussion with Rick from High Tech Coatings about priming
the car several years ago. He has a car he painted about 20 years ago.
He used a polyester primer/sealer. He said it's held up great. So I
used the same stuff - Evercoat - Feather fill.
My car has been primed for over a year, with no obvious side effects.
However, it's seen very little sun light either as I'm still working on
her.
