First make sure the PCV is working though. If it isn't, pressure can build up 
and force oil out. I had a Jeep where the rear main seal was leaking something 
fierce, but replacing the PCV dried the leak right up.

 I,ve got a rear seal leak in my 75 engine .   The fresh oil can be seen
leaking  where the transmission bolts up . it,s definately coming from the
rear seal  can the transsmission be dropped to  change the seal ? Will it be
that easy lol
