If you have an interest in Spits, I would send $20 to the Vintage Triumph
Register for a membership, and request starting with issue #43. It has a
few pages reprinted from an English magazine in which Graham Robson recounts
the exploits of the LeMans & rally works Spitfires. Boy, 137 mph out of an
1147 cc 4 banger!

Wish I could find one of those LeMan's bonnets, or a rally one with the
fairings for the extra pair of lights. And while I'm at it, an 8 port
head for my 1147 engine, and when I register one of my Spits I might
have to get some personalised plates "ADU 1B", the tag number of one
of the works cars.

And as long as I am going to be subtly pretentious, I am trying to decide
if I continue to race the white 4A next year, if I should change my number
from 67 to 44. Must be that shot of Bill Colon's TR4 in the VTR newsletter!
Hopefully I will get mine anyday now and can return this one to its owner.

ps: That referecne a few messages back should have been for the South Lansing
