On Saturday it got over 60. I took the Spridget to the Builders'
Square for some sheet metal stuff for a home project (clothes-drier
venting). Nice roadster weather. That night I bled out the silicone
and put in some Castrol GT LMA. Hope this gives me better pedal.
In-laws for Easter, back to car Sunday night. Replaced two front
wheel studs which had bad threads, put on neat-looking Monza muffler
with the double chrome pipes (need something to distract the eye from
the rough body), cleaned out the oil-dry in the footwells and put in
the floormats. Finishing touch, install fake "Paddy Hopkirk" steel
wheels bearing those Yoko gumboot street slicks. First event is this
Saturday!! Today (Monday) it snowed. When will I get a chance to
test this car with the new tires? I had the Bugeye wheels and a mix
of 145 on front and 155 on rear, all old, dry street radials, on
Saturday. I actually got an inside wheel to spin for the first time
since I put on the big front bar. Maybe the new rear springs have
tamed the understeer? Can't wait to try it with the Yokos!
