[spit runs poorly, too rich]
Maybe the carb diaphragms gave out (if it's a stromberg-carbed car)? They
seem to be a maintenance item. Do the pistons move evenly, and in reasonable
amounts? Also, the float valve(s) may have gotten gummed up or stuck, which
would cause VERY rich running. Also make sure the chokes aren't stuck.
