I know many (well some) folks with J.C. Taylor and I don't recall
them saying the limits were that extreme. eg. they drive their
cars to club meetings and other club events. As I recall, J.C. Taylor
does NOT cover driving in any type of competitive event such as
an auto rally, autocross or a track type event.

Most classic coverage does allow for some types of driving other
than just parades or to car shows. The allowed uses are usually
identified in a broad enough definition that lots of possibilities
exist. On the other hand, most classic policies specifically
exclude driving to and from work, etc.

Also, depending on where you live, check out several of the
major insurance companies (State Farm, etc.) I have a State Farm
"classic" policy on my 1961 TR-3A AND on my 1981 TR-8. I did
have to submit documentation when I put the TR-8 on as a classic
this past January (State Farm Classic definition in New Jersey
can start when a vehicle is 10 years old.) A prior set
of dialogue on this topic uncovered a widespread set of
different criteria for State Farms "classic" definition
depending on the particular state you live in.

Check out the other collector insurance carriers in any
issue of Hemmings Motor News also. One significant point,
I don't think you'll qualify for classic coverage UNLESS
you can show that you have one or more other vehicles as
your regular transportation.
