Brake backing or dust plates?

_I_ think, and I want to be corrected, that you might have problems in
the rain.  My Alfa's brakes are terrible in heavy rain at high speeds
and I believe it is due to wet rotors.  Without the backing plates,
you might have it even worse.

This seems not to be an issue to you.
