Will, the stuff does indeed seem to work as long as you scrape all the
scrapable rust first. If you do not, the goop converts the surface rust leaving
a pool of unconverted rust underneath. The goop just can not penatrate rust to
any depth. Ideally you want to take rust down to bare metal & maybe some
very small pockets that you would have to sand all the metal away to get to,
then add the goop to go after the last.
Lots of work.
Your friends price range not only includes MGBs, but Spridgets, Spitfires,
TR7s and so-so driver restorable older TRs. I think it also includes some
of the minis, certinly most Austin Americas & MG1100s & a few others.
