Once upon a time, I came to work on my pride & joy, a 1973 Norton Commando
motorcycle. We had a visiting delegation of customers from Great Britain, and
one of them remarked: "I see you got a new bicycle." I replied in a huff:
"It's a MOTORCYCLE" before realizing that to Brits "bicycle" doubtless means
"motorcycle" if the context is right.
