Does anyone know of a reference for building a distributer test machine?
Never having seen one, I don't know how it's usually done. Do they
tend to use a scope for measurements, or guages?

I've been thinking about building one of these. It should have at least:

-Variable speed, max RPM maybe 5000? (This would allow testing for a 10K
 engine speed)
-Vacuum hookup?
-shaft diameter/drive dog adapters? (Something universal?)
-strobe light and degree indicaators?

Be able to test:
-Both primary and secondary circuits
-Firing & spark?
-Points bounce
-dwell
-advance
-wobble (dwell variation from lobe to lobe)
-what else?
