OFFICE MEMO Headlamp Rights & Lefts Date:10/6/93
On Jaguar Mark 5's and XK120's made with PF770's for the "Home" market the
right hand headlamp bulb had only one filament, the low or dip beam. Must have
been a law at the time. For all other countries both headlamps had two
filaments and there is no designation for L or R.
BTW, Canada and the USA took a special headlamp (sealed beam?) and France took
a different special headlamp. Local laws again.
So next time you see a protester carrying a sign demanding "Headlamp Rights"
you can tell him he's "electrically incorrect". ;-)
