Christoph,
I may be able to give you some advice concerning the top for your Midget.
1. OE or sometimes OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer. Only insist
on this type of soft top if your'e really serious about total originality.
American soft tops are generally made from a thicker vinyl than the
British ones, consequently they hold up a bit longer.
2. MG's of the 60's and 70's are generally considered to be of a higher
build quality than other marks, namely Triumph, and the body dimensions
between 2 given cars are fairly close. As a result, soft tops can be
ordered for MG cars that have the Header Rails installed. This helps
the first-time or amateur installer do a good job without too much
messing around, since you don't have to custom fit the top to the
    Header Rail.
3. Moss Motors is pretty good, however make sure that they have in stock
the part you wish to order. Else they charge you for it, and place
your part on a sometimes very long backorder list. Victoria I've
    had mostly good luck with.

    I hope this helps.
