I purchased a deluxe carpet kit from "Tiger Tom's" which is made by the same
company as those sold by Sunbeam Specialties. The price is $195.00 for a
complete set which includes a bag full of snaps to hold it down. Supposedly,
these carpets are all made using patterns from original carpet sets. I bought
the
fuzzy pile rather than the loop style. While the carpet was of good quality,
with a heavy jute backing, I was somewhat dissappointed in the fit, especially
the rear shelf. The carpet that came in my Alpine when I bought it was a rather
striking baby blue shag, so I really did'nt have anything to compare to.
I now own a Tiger with what looks like original carpet. It's the loop style and
fits very well even though it's worn out. Installation was relatively easy. You
will have to take the forward kickpanels, and aluminum tread plates out, but
thats about it.
