I'm installing my new engine in the TR4A and have a bunch of
small puzzles/questions. The primary one on my mind now is this. My
Bentley's manual specifies a slightly longer stud for the extreme left
exhaust manifold stud, than for the extreme right. The right one is just
long enough for a lockwasher and nut. The left one is longer, and
requires me to put on a few more washers so I wont run out of thread. It
appears as if something should go here, but I cant figure out what. The
manual does'nt say, and my old engine didn't have anything there. Is
this a vestigal stud, left over from the TR4 or TR3?

                                Thanks
