SPRITE info

Since I know a lot of you guys have some experience with the marque 8-)
could someone jot down a brief history of the SPRITE.  Specifically i'm
looking for the years that major changes took place (and what they were),
and also a ballpark price for one in fair condition.  I've been looking
for a "buyers guide" for a few months in the usual magazines but
unfortunately I must have picked the wrong time of the decade.  Xerox 
anyone ?
