Finally got around to a compression check on my (oil-burning) 69 Spitfire. Readings: 165/100/150/150. I take it that cylinder 2 is in pretty bad shape <sigh>. This is the same cylinder where I had really bad carbon buildup on the plug last week. Are the 150 readings on 3 and 4 OK or out of tolerance? Never looked at auto compression checks before (aircraft ones, yes, but they have much lower numbers). ...John Trindle |
