MGB Parts compatibility

Does anybody know what difficulties might arise in trying to put a '76 MGB
engine in a pre-'68 body??  Are there other parts from later cars that can
be used?  (Tranny, etc?)  I may have to undertake such a project, so any
advice would be appreciated.  Thanks!!
