     rubber covers at Frey Racing (address below),that are
     supposed to keep grit out & lube in. They were a *heck*
     of a lot cheaper than new rod ends and a few years later
     they are cracking but still intact. What they look like
     is a suction cup with a hole in the center, you fit
     them to either side of the joint when assembling, then
     pull one back & squirt your favorite lube in there.
