Check to see if the tank is vented at the top (a thin pipe leading out to the
bottom of the car (if not vented check to see that the filler cap is a vented
type (OR a non-vented if a vent pipe is fitted)). The vent pipe may have
pulled off or been kinked up if you have either moved the tank or been
"fossicking" about in the boot (trunk in US?) OR it might have deteriorated
or pulled up into the inside of the car.
