Sharon Oblinger asks if anyone in the US has ever seen one of these
cars since they are rather rare.

When I used to work the vintage races for RMVR (many years ago),
there was a club member who owned one of the coupes.  He drove
it as a street car, and even raced it a few times.  He stopped
racing it mostly because it was bog slow with the sluch box tranny,
even though it had that great big lump of an engine.  I was of the
opinion that this was one of those few cars that actually looked
better in photos than it did in "the flesh".  Somehow the lines
just didn't work for me and it ended up looking large and awkward.
Especially when parked next to a Lotus Elan, Elite (original)
or a Cobra...
