Land Rover Discovery

I realise that the above-mentioned vehicle doesn't fall into the  
classic category but I was wondering if anyone on the list has 
recently purchased one and would be prepared to discuss their 
opinions about the car.  I am particularly interested in the manual 
gearbox version (performance, fuel economy vs automatic).
