Re: Middle Age Crazy, or something like that---- I am, and will remain
middle age crazy for these cars, and will be a defiant "old man" while I
decide which of my cars to drive on Sunday or any other day. Our 3000
has some wear, which I like---can't take those pristine types--and I drive
it whenever I can--even in Pittsburgh in Jan---if it isn't snowing--when
isn't it snowing in Jan in Pittsburgh? Our Xke rdst. is almost completely
restored, and we can't wait to accumulate miles on it. Our 68 Spit gets
numerous workouts-----.

Owned MGA and Jag during the 60' and 70's so have been a long time Brit car
fan. Am currently "President" of the Three Rivers AH Club, and we have
around 40/50 members, many of which are in the 40 to 50 year old group, and
most "drive" their cars and wear those funny caps with auto pins all over
them.

I'm sure there are those who wanted these cars when they were young, and
couldn't afford them. If they buy them at 40 or 50 to "recapture"
something, more power to them--why not? Hey, if the Stones can still sing
great rock and roll at 50+ ------.

Have 24 year old daughter who drives the Spit a lot---my insurance won't
allow her to drive the Healey or Jag. Hopefully she will carry on the
tradition when I can no longer hobble to the car. Have wife who is more of
a fanatic than I am---if the top can't be down rain or cold, she doesn't
want to take them out!

As for parts supplies, I try to find and horde those parts I know are going
to be hard to find, but as long as Moss, Welsh, Spec Interest, VB, TRF, and
Healey Surgeons are around we should be able to get the more common parts.
There are a number of other folks who have begun to manufacture hard to get
parts, so hopefully, parts won't be too much of a problem for a while.

Have enjoyed reading the sterotype articles.
