I ditto T.J.'s admonition:  DON'T DO IT!

You <or your friend> will RUIN an Alpine.
And when you're done, what you have WON'T be a Tiger.

How about you give us your friend's name and numbers?
We can get together a few "True Believers" who own and 
love both Alpines and Tigers and maybe stop by his house 
for a bit of "attitude adjustment."  ;-)
