Hi all, I am in the process of replacing the main bearings on my rover
v8. Before disassembly I measured the crankshaft end float. It was
0.014" which is way out of tolerance.

My question is will a new set of main bearings correct this, or is my
crankshaft shot?

I have to get the main and rod journals reground, and I don't want to go
to the expense of this machining only to find that the new main bearings
won't correct the end float.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

steve
