Hi Erik,
Those wheels actually had "Spitfire" cast into them. The only
disadvantage was that the offset was fixed at whatever was considered
optimum for a Spitfire.... fortunately, not too far from Elan optimum
provided some creative wheelwell redesign was done.

Rod,
Do those Italian brand wheels (BWA?) that were used on your Elan race car fit
because they were actually *available* in our familiar 4 on 3-3/4 pattern?
Or, is the 4 on 98mm pattern found on many Fiats and Lancias close enough
that it can be made to work using offset bushings or the like?
